Rep. Cabello on Gov. Pritzker’s State of the State and Budget Address

SPRINGFIELD, IL – The following statement is from State Representative John M. Cabello following Governor Pritzker’s State of the State and Budget Address:

“Governor Pritzker’s address painted a rosy picture of progress in our state; however, this sharply contrasts with the reality many Illinoisans face under his leadership.

He once again put on full display that he is an out of touch multi-billionaire who has no clue what the average Illinoisian is dealing with. He has no idea about the mounting bills on everyone’s kitchen table. He has no idea what gas costs, prescription medications cost, or even the price tag that comes with a basic trip to the grocery store.

The Governor clearly is not aware of these issues because he is willing to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on illegal migrants to cover their needs such as shelter, food, and healthcare. My question for Governor Pritzker is when was the last time the state justified that kind of spending on our own tax paying citizens?

I will continue to call out Governor Pritzker and Illinois Democrats to abandon the smoke and mirrors approach and focus on delivering a higher quality of life to all Illinoisans.”

John M. Cabello is the Assistant Minority Leader and State Representative for Illinois’ 90th House District, which includes the following communities in Winnebago, Stephenson, and Boone counties: Rockford, Machesney Park, Freeport, Roscoe, Loves Park, Rockton, South Beloit, Caledonia, Durand, Rock City, and Rockton.
