RIP Chicago Police Officer Luis Huesca

CHICAGO, IL – Luis M. Huesca, the 30 year-old uniformed Chicago Police officer who was fatally shot multiple times Sunday morning in Gage Park. At a press conference earlier this week, CPD Supt. Larry Snelling didn’t confirm it was a carjacking but did confirm the officer’s car was stolen.

Huesca, a six-year police veteran, would have celebrated his 31st birthday in two days and leaves behind a mother and an uncle.

Here is the information for Officer Huesca’s funeral. If you can’t attend, I encourage you to thank the next police officer you see in his name.

Visitation is Sunday from 1 p.m. through 8 p.m. at Blake Lamb Funeral Home in Oak Lawn. A funeral mass is planned for Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Rita of Cascia Catholic Church on Western Avenue in Chicago.

My prayers are with the officer, his family, friends and colleagues.
