In the 104th General Assembly House Republicans are taking a strong stand against Illinois’ dangerous and costly Sanctuary State policy and advocating for new legislation aimed at reversing the damage caused by unchecked illegal immigration. Republican lawmakers have been pushing to repeal the Illinois TRUST Act, which prevents local law enforcement from cooperating with federal immigration authorities. With over half a million illegal immigrants entering Illinois under the Biden Administration, state resources are being stretched thin and taxpayers are footing a massive bill—over $2 billion in healthcare benefits alone. The proposed bills would restore local control, end policies that attract illegal immigration, and prioritize the safety and well-being of Illinois families.
