State Representative John M. Cabello (R-Machesney Park) will host two free property tax appeal events this August to help residents better understand and navigate the appeals process.
“Rising property taxes are making it unaffordable for many families and seniors on fixed incomes to stay in Illinois,” said Rep. Cabello. “Until property tax reform can be achieved at the statewide level, my office is hosting events to give residents the information and tools they need to appeal if they believe they may have been over-assessed.”
The events are scheduled as follows:
Winnebago County
- Saturday, August 1
- 12:00 P.M. – 1:30 P.M.
- City of Loves Park Government Building
- 100 Heart Blvd., Loves Park

In addition to the property tax appeal presentation, legislative staff will be available at both events to answer questions about state issues and assist with constituent services.
