Rep. Cabello Launches Petition Against Democrat Proposals to Legalize Prostitution and Voting by Jail

MACHESNEY PARK – State Representative John M. Cabello (R-Machesney Park) is calling on Illinois residents to stand against two radical Democrat proposals that would legalize prostitution and allow incarcerated individuals to vote while serving their sentences. These controversial measures, set to be debated in the newly underway 104th General Assembly, represent major changes to Illinois law.

“Illinois residents have repeatedly seen lawmakers propose extreme policies that are completely out of touch with the interests of families, taxpayers, and communities. These proposals are no exception,” said Cabello. “Legalizing prostitution opens the door to increased human trafficking and exploitation, especially of vulnerable women and children. Furthermore, allowing criminals to vote while serving their sentences undermines justice and disrespects victims of crime. We must hold those who have broken the law accountable.”

Residents can voice their concerns with these proposals by signing Rep. Cabello’s petition at RepCabello.com or by calling his office at 815-974-0090.

Rep. Cabello concluded, “Illinois needs responsible leadership and policies that reflect the values and safety of its people, not reckless ideas such as these that put our communities at risk. Please sign my petition to voice your concerns and to keep our communities safe.”
